mmirg: I don't think. Try to change resolution to 320x240 in mplayer
command and you will see the same as skype-in video picture. I think
this is a some kind of kernel<>driver incompatibility... It would be
good to hear a developer's opinion.

j-dreamer: The mplayer command in your message seems to be fine for
me. I wonder if this is an incompatibility with skype and uvcvideo.

I have the same problem with 2.6.26-gentoo-r1 kernel, image looks
severely ghosted in skype.
When i tried with
$ mplayer tv:///0 -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:noaudio -fps 25
image seems ok, but with low visual framerate.

With 2.6.25 kernel all worked great.

I have been successfully using the camera in my VAIO SZ680 for a few months,
but have begun to run into trouble with the 2.6.26 kernel. I originally had the same
problem listed in the bug in issue 25, but I am now able to both compile and insert
the r5u870 driver compiled from svn when I also use the uvcvideo module.
However, the actual camera image that I get with uvcvideo is severely ghosted
when I attempt to view it in an application like Skype (which was working perfectly
before.) In ekiga (which was also working before), the camera is detected but the
application only provides a garbled image.

The camera now appears as /dev/video0 and appears in applications as "UVC
Camera."
