Thanks for the patch, it finally made the driver work for me after
2.6.26! (What do not you release patched version!)
By the way 2.6.26 has a buggy support for my webcam (05ca:183a) using
uvcvideo, everything excepting mplayer is broken with the driver! I
usually had kernel panics (untill I disable the uvcvideo), But the
thing is that
the quality with the uvcvideo driver (which i just could test it
using "mplayer tv://") was better than this driver!

Here is a quick hack that makes the driver work with kernel 2.6.26,
at least on my machine (Vaio SZ3). As I have no experience with
kernel hacking I guess some things are missing.

Still getting the same problem with the latest fedora kernels
(2.6.26.3-29 and 2.6.26.5-32). Whatever has changed to break this
driver between the 2.6.25 kernels and the 2.6.26 kernels doesn't
look like its going to be fixed within the kernel, so I guess its
down to the r5u870 driver to make the required changes. I'm not a
kernel hacker, but would be happy to test any changes to see if they
have fixed things.

I'm hitting the same oops testing the latest fedora kernel
(2.6.26.1-9 from koji.fedoraproject.org) using the r5u870 driver
from the 0.11.1 tarball. Let me know if there is anything I can do
to help debug this.
Thanks,
James.

Hi today I upgraded to kernel 2.6.26 with my custom config, I get
compile time warnings and when inserting the module with modprobe i
got an oops. Please see attached file. This is with r94 from svn.
